Hello all,
I have noted that there are a few readers on these forums. And, at the times we find it a struggle to read, we at least like the idea of reading. So, I thought I would start this Book Club thread, whereby we first throw out some genres, come to a consensus and read for as long as it takes us to read. No pressure. And should the whim take us, we can start discussing said book on here. How much we all hate/love that character. The feels the book is giving us, etc. Plus, a good excuse to take us out of our heads and into someone else's, even if it is fictional (or perhaps not?).
So, my genres:
A particular favourite is historical fiction, and next to that is post-apocalyptic/dystopian fiction. I read the classics, fantasy, philosophy and science books. And my version of a quick read is something with adventure with a bit of history there (come full circle), and maybe crime. I have never got into law based fiction books. But law based non-fiction I can do for some reason. Anyway, that's me. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. I have a "To read" list, and if anyone wants whatever is on there, let me know.

Hi All
It appears my phone is chockers! I have to make room for my book. I expect the iBook will have different numbering? I'm not too concerned about me, but I'll be careful not to spoil the read for others.

And I finally found a setting for despair... "So I put in on my schedule for twice a month; I think that's a reasonable amount of time to feel hopeless about everything"...
Thought: Imagine if we were able to program our own moods. What mood would you most like to program.

"The UN had made it easy to emigrate, difficult if not impossible to stay."
Thought: Would you have emigrated or stayed on Earth? What do you imagine Earth looks like now after WWT?

Hey Emmy:
Thought: Imagine if we were able to program our own moods. What mood would you most like to program.
For me, life is about experiencing all emotions at all different levels of extremity. Maybe it's the inner romantic in me? So I'd want to be able to experience everything, but I'd really really want an on/off switch haha. And something to prepare me!
I found the book in the bookshop and remembered why I remember the name: we studied the movie Blade Runner in school which is based on the book!

I think I agree with you James, you can't know Joy without sadness, I'd want to experience them all BUT it would be nice though to be able to program your moods when you're going out e.g confident. No anxiety!!
How great that youve already studied the book perhaps you could raise some points for discussion.
I'm really enjoying it, don't want to put it down but then don't want to get too ahead of everyone. Or being posting too much on this thread to annoy everyone.
Hope you have a good day James 🙂 Emmy x

Hey Emmy,
I'm glad you are liking the book,, though I feel I should add you shouldn't feel bad about posting too much. I will hopefully get the book this weekend. Maybe it was a good thing I couldn't get my hands on a copy because I have to hand in an assignment today.
If you are encouraged, please keep posting
