Hey Max
You are talented to have even started to write a novel let alone completing it. I love the green monkeys having a laugh and also the sky being a cinema screen.
All I have written are reports and analysis studies for directors (ugh..how boring)
Nice1 being so creative Max!, Paul

Dear Max, how creative of you. You have so much to share ...
This lone wolf is also a writer. I mostly used to contribute articles to esoteric subscription mags, both here and overseas. I also almost completed a work of "fiction" where in fact everything had happened in reality. Is there such thing as fiction ? I had to interrupt it many years ago when I became sole carer to a daughter with brain injury. Completing it now would result in a disjointed work as I am not the same person I was some 20 years ago...too much raging water has gone under that bridge since !
Part published in uni papers? Wow, you succeeded way better than I did.
And yeah, I fully agree...writing is therapeutic. Not only does it clarify our own thoughts but it also acquires its own momentum and sweeps us in its flow...taking us to places we never thought existed. may it be for future publication or self-therapy, I highly recommend it.
Thank you for initiating another interesting thread.

To answer your threads question, yes I have. Ii call it boxrep's recovery journey". Its a personal account of going through life with a mental illness. I too have found it therapeutic and I have converted the blog entries into a book where it sits proudly on my bookshelf.
I haven't been creative as you as I found entertaining my apparent hallucinations in such a format as "triggering"...I tried to keep it as real and believable as I could (boring I know).
I recommend writing your own story any which way you want, I have found it a good way to spend time and a great past time/hobby...who know's maybe one of our stories will fall in the right hands one day and we become rich and famous for it...hmmm maybe something to think and write about...if only...sigh.

I agree that insight and sensitivity are necessary ingredients of creativity. Thank you for sharing both around these forums. Being raised by a caring, creative grandma has been a blessing.
I'm also with you about sensitivity making us vulnerable. It is also true that -with persistent work- we can gradually build up emotional immunity without having to numb feelings. Hard work but well worth the effort.
A peaceful day to you.
