Hi Caite,
I’m sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell and that your doctor is not listening to you. I’m not a medical professional, so I cannot give you any medical advice or diagnosis. But I feel that simply avoiding to have any medication maybe not a good idea, you might need necessary and proper treatment that fits you.
If you don't trust your current doctor, do you want to change to another doctor who's listening and wanting to involve you in decision-making? You can continue to take vitamins given by your herbalist at the same time.
Hope everything will be better.

H Caite,
I am not a health professional either so I can't provide any medical advice however, I am just wondering, in your case is it worth getting a second opinion? I think if you are concerned about your doctor putting you on other medication it's definitely worth seeing if another gp agrees with this choice.

yeah I definitely am looking into another GP, the Herbalist seems to be the only one who gets it along side my therapist, thank you 😊

Hey, I recently attempted to come off my meds however I have made the decision to go back on for my mental health. It is your body your choice and I don't know why you decided to come off meds, however, if it was external factors such as other people's judgments/opinions I would highly recommend you re-consider the decision or evaluate it in depth. I am saying this as this is why I went off meds and I highly regret it. You should also try and see a doctor who respects your decisions. When I came off my meds I was sick for about a month with extreme fatigue and I felt dizzy and like I would faint whenever I walked/moved I also had an extreme heart rate. Later MY anxiety got/is really bad and so have started (literally today) to go back onto meds.
I totally get not wanting to be medicated so staying in contact with the vitamin specialist is great.
I hope you feel better soon 🙂

Thanks Julie, I actually didn’t want to come off them but had to due to my body fighting against the medication, I’m 6 weeks off them and am starting to feel a little better thanks to a herbalist who’s helping me with my serotonin syndrome and histamine, but yes definitely considering getting a new doctor 😊

HI Caite,
Yes i know what you are going through - i have had horrible experiences on different anti-depressants. I too felt i had serotonin syndrome on one, even on a very low dose. I know the medications take some time to settle in, but the immense anxiety the medication created when i first got on it was unbearable and the insomina is something i am still recovering from. i think by your speaking to a naturalist is a good idea, while the drugs work for some they simply dont work for everyone. All you can do is keep trying new things, its the only strategy. good luck! and hang in there. you will find something.
