Hi
There will be many different views on whether Vit B helps or not, but I took them because I drank alcohol, which supposedly decreases their levels.
I've been taking it for over 20 years and they maintain your red blood levels which are very important.
To answer your question, my GP said that if my red and white blood cells were out of the ordinary then it's possible they would affect my anxiety/depression and I needed to take B-Complex or Vit B tablets.
Geoff.

Hi Tasguy,
Thanks for your post.
There is some evidence there that taking extra vitamin B can help with mood, even if it is in the normal range, but the evidence isn't strong, so it can be a hit and miss as to whether it will work for you.
The good news is that vitamin B alone is mostly water soluble, so if you do decide to trial it, and your body doesn't need it - you're pretty unlikely to get too many side effects.
This might be worth having a chat to your GP about too.
Hope this helps,
