Hi,
I am a long term sufferer of healthy anxiety and reactive depression. Recently, my latest symptom of anxiety has been the feeling of something stuck in my throat. It feel as though I have swallowed a piece of food that has then gotten stuck in my throat. Has anybody experienced anything similar to this? It is extremely uncomfortable and I cannot stop thinking about it.

The feeling of something in my throat was something I started with. I guess I noticed the physical symptoms I had. Though I described it as a feeling of a lump in my throat. I also would get a sweaty palms, feel itchy, chest pain etc.
For myself, it was only when I went on medication was I able to get rid of those feelings.
Can I ask whether you get any professional help at the moment? If so, perhaps something to bring up next time you talk with ... ?
Are there certain time you get like this? If you could work out the triggers to this feeling then perhaps you could work out a way of managing that situation.
Tim

Hi Tim,
Thanks so much for responding. I am currently medicated for my anxiety and whilst it has stopped my daily full on panic attacks it has not fully eased my symptoms. I am constantly experiencing different physical symptoms of my anxiety, with the lump in the throat being the latest. Whilst I am just an anxious person in general, it is the physical symptoms that really bother me and feed into my health anxiety. I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow who will hopefully put me at ease.
