Out of interest. Has anyone tried psychotherapy and hypnotherapy for GAD? I've seen a psychologist for a while but I'm finding I'm know longer improving. Although I am way more educated, my physical anxiety symptoms often come back with a vengeance. Just wondering what other techniques people have used, and what's worked for them. 😊 thanks

Dear Blue_Lou~
Welcome to the Forum, I hope you can look around and see how others have coped. Amongst other things I have an anxiety condition which has now reached the stage of recovery where life is good and not overly limited by physical or mental symptoms.
I did try a long course of hypnotherapy, but it did no good. Each time I walked out of the consulting room feeling reasonable that mood evaporated straight away as life crowed back in on me. I'm saying just that hypnotherapy did not help me but that does not mean it might not help others.
Psychotherapy is too broad a term for me to comment. I have certainly benefited a great deal from regular visits to a psychiatrist, and ongoing medication that suits me, however in my case the approach that ended up being effective was to directly treat all the physical symptoms and use talk therapy.
