Anxiety & depression

Hello

Im having a very hard time. Im the lowest I have ever been and my anxiety is at its peak. My health anxiety is taking over. Im currently on a wait list for psychologists.

I don't take ADs, I used to for 15 years but I came off them over 6 months ago.

My husband doesn't really understand MH so I don't speak to him much about it all. I just hid away and cry most days. Getting out of bed to just make breakfast is the hardest job. But I push myself to do it for my kids.

My husband wants all of us to go away this weekend with his family and Im dreading it. I don't know how to function around people. I really don't know what to do. Some days I function ok, and I think "yay its a good day" And then by night time Im crying again.

I just thought I'd post to chat with others who feel like this, because relating to someone always feels nice.

Hi JEF15,

Thank you for your post to the forums today and for sharing with us how you are feeling right now. Health anxiety is incredibly challenging to manage.

We think it’s always really good to keep your GP updated with depression, health anxiety and physical symptoms, so it might be time to set up an appointment. Please know that the Beyond Blue counsellors are here for you as well, and you can call us on 1300 22 4636 anytime if you feel like talking it through.   We’re sure we’ll hear from our lovely community here soon, but in the meantime here’s some resources and conversations on managing anxiety you might find interesting:  Thanks again for posting here. It must have taken a lot of strength to share this, but you never know who will read this post and feel less alone in their own experience.

Kind regards,
Sophie M

Hi there,

I am sorry you are going through this, it must be hard for you. It is great that you are in line to see a psychologist, I know the wait times are appalling at the moment! As Sophie_M suggested, it might be beneficial to talk to your GP about how you are feeling, they might be able to help in the meantime and you can always call us here at Beyond Blue.

I hope things improve,

Jaz xx
