do you ever feel like you could burst, just keeping everything inside you until the world feels like its about to collapse? you aren't sad but just full of something that wont go away. and when the release comes its never enought and the rope still tightens. and like it just doesnt work. and then you feel like you want to die but not really, you just want to scream but cant. you are drowning but cant be saved. suffering in silence

Hi, welcome

You are describing anxiety and anxiety is a serious illness that is treatable in most cases. Unfortunately, many people take the bare advice and hope it goes away but in my lived experience it takes several means to eliminate it and a lot of time and persistence.

Triggers that can effect your anxiety can be-

  • Financial pressure
  • Toxic friends or relatives with demands, manipulation or control
  • Car troubles
  • Employment issues
  • Career- lack of stimulation
  • Environment
  • Lack of a hobby/sport/special interest
  • Socialising
  • Diet and exercise.

So with the list above you can see how all these issues can come about. Self care could mean you have to consider some tough decisions eg removal of a toxic person from your life. I had to do that to 2 people in my family and the relief was for me well worth it. A move from the city to the country can be a positive move if you dont live too isolated which can produce other issues like- too far from medical help/reliance on others nearby and extra expense to visit shops. A population of more than 3000 is ideal - hospital, supermarket etc.

Relaxation is underrated and can be done with background music or good videos. Google - youtube Pre Rawat Maharaji sunset. Thats one of many he has on youtube and I love listening to his common sense.

So all this I've tried including therapy through my GP which I highly recommend. Put all those things together  and you'll reap the rewards over time. Some improvements come within weeks but full recovery from anxiety might take several years.

Here is a post about it.
