Recently something bad happened and it was really my fault. It’s been a few days and I’ve gotten somewhat better but from time to time a wave of sadness would just wash over me. I am going on holiday soon and I’m afraid i wouldn’t be able to support myself. Is there anything i could do to deal with these random feelings?

Hello tayorange,
I'm sorry to hear that you've had to go through a negative experience and it's understandable that waves of sadness come over you from time to time. It can take more time than we think to heal from a negative experience. Something you might like to try is journalling. Perhaps write down your thoughts throughout the day, especially when those waves of sadness arise and at the end of each day, look over the thoughts that arose. Was there some event during the day that triggered those feelings? Is there one thought you keep having over and over? Understanding why you feel sad at times can be really helpful in dealing with the seemingly random feelings.
Hope this is helpful,
Beeee

Hi Beeee,
thanks for the reply. I did start journaling a few months back but i stopped for a while. I think i haven’t done recently because i’m scared to think about those feelings but I definitely will start journaling whenever i feel down. i brought my journal with me on my holiday so hopefully it helps.
Thanks for replying to my message, it reminds me that i’m not alone
