I just began TAFE and are studying a cert II. Recently my doctor prescribed me medication for my anxiety. I was just wondering do I or should I tell my TAFE of this. Especially since it can effect my cognitive and mental state.

Hi Catcute,

I would like to suggest that you mention your situation to TAFE only if you start to struggle with keeping up with your work.

In the past, I have found TAFE staff to be very supportive if I had an issue with something.

Make contact with the staff when an issue first comes up. I had issues with understanding some questions, a simple explanation helped immensely.

Congratulations on doing some study.

There is a thread here about STUDY as well, I forget wheat the actual title is. You may find some good tips there.

All the best, cheers from Dools

hello and welcome

I dont think naming medications is a requirement for tafe however if your struggling mentally it would be benefical to let your supervisors/teachers know about your mental health status. they also have ways to support their students like free counselling.

The study thread that Mrs D is talking about is called 'eep when studying is overwhelmineg-tips, ideas and coping strategies. i would also reccomend having a look, theres some pretty good tips

Good Luck! 🙂
