ROCD- need someone to talk to

Hi guys,

First time poster... little bit nervous!

Long story short, I’ve been dealing with ROCD and it’s accompanying anxiety/depression for 2 years now and I would LOVE to find someone on here who is happy to vent and chat and provide support. My partner and friends and family are amazing but sometimes it’s hard to put into words exactly how I’m feeling so finding someone who understands would mean the world!

Hey OC 🙂 welcome, I assure you nothing at all to be nervous about here, absolute magic site, lovely people, very supportive and no judgement so as you can see I like it here 🙂

OCD I know the initialism but the R?

Would you like to talk about this and what happens, apart from supporting you which I'll definately do when I'm here which is pretty much most of the time, I just spoke to someone here the other day actually that has OCD too they're on my threads so when I come across them I could introduce you to them if you like, maybe you both could support each other in respective threads, your call 🙂

Also if you do a search top R) for OCD you could connect and read other posts too if you like to get to know others which again is entirely your choice

I think this would be very frustrating the little I do know and with anxiety and depression on top you've got quite a basket full.

Great you've got fantastic support in your life, doesn't it mean the world, it's lifting aye.

Have you had any professional counselling at all for any of this, if not if you see your GP they can get you onto a MHCP (mental health care plan) up to 10 free a yr.

Alrighty your on my threads so I'll see you again 🙂

Take good care

hi OCDemons, welcome to the site and thanks for posting your comment and please you don't have to be nervous.

Feel free to talk with me as I've had OCD for a long time, and please don't be scared of saying what you want to, I think this morning all my replies have been on anxiety/OCD, but it's a safe site with many lovely people who want to talk about everything and that's great.

I'm happy to vent and mentioned what I find very difficult to cope with in regards to this illness so feel comfortable knowing you have found a place to talk.

Look forward to hearing from you and can I say before I go, is that I logon very early in the morning and then log off around lunchtime, so if I miss a reply from you today I will catch it early in the morning as I have written down your avatar. Geoff.

Hi Geoff!

Thanks for the response. I’m trying not to get on forums too much because it’s actually one of my bad compulsions and my psychiatrist has told me to stop haha! But as you know, it’s hard! I’ve just changed medication so I will update you on my journey in a few weeks or so.

I hope you are doing well.

Hi OCDemons & Geoff

Yes they certainly can be hooky can't they

All best with your journey

look forward to hearing how you go

Hi Demon & all

I need to thank you both warmly & as mentioned I look forward to when you're ready OCD Demon 🙂 to hearing how you go

Don't know if youse heard that...a penny dropped actually a few have been here intermittently over time 🙂 apologies this isn't about me here but want you to know you've helped me confirm something I was aware of & psych & I just touched on subject last visit re obsessive behavior which was going to talk more with her on next visit. I saw her thinking as she said it, my lapse in connection for OCD was seeing & thinking it was in different behaviour specifically like having to open & close doors, checking their locked etc which might be extreme OCD I don't know enough about it, which would be such an exhausting ritual I feel for people with this & the major stress it'd create which I learnt through nursing as well to regain pretty good control over my yrs including being a 21 yr compulsive gambler with pokies only,13 yrs off now tho lost $2.5 ish plus on card table poker online which I barely could afford, thankfully pulled up when I realised it was similar to pokie compulsion. Wasn't going back there, hard living major stress for partner family so many others it affects which no one needs also in hindsight grieving puts you out of whack amongst other reasons it was a hard mistake to learn from

So from deep thankyou both, I replied in a post which maybe forgot to send & went to cyber space lol this has helped me 🙂

Btw Geoff when you pop your thread up plz could you let me know I'd like to support you & learn more from your experience. Again thankyou good man you both I feel will be of great benefit also to many

OH think it was you said G, I agree it certainly can be confronting when faced with diagnosis which in time settles and allows us the opportunity for research thought & seeking help as we know it's too much to take on alone so ultimately the positive is it can be a gift in our quest for peace for many an achievable goal

Thumbs up to you both & eternally grateful to BB providing such help for so many in a safe amazing well run place

Yes I do too but a good one as Psych & I was saying other day. Good it's helping us as well as others in progress so I figure as long as what people do isn't hurting others ..
