Personally for myself it has been a struggle. Please do not judge this beacuse this is my first time reaching out to beyond blue. My name is Bella and i am 15 years of age.I live with my 2 sisters and single mum who is also struggling  with depression. For myself it is hard at home and in school. I feel the need to not participate  in anything or put myself out there. I feel that theres no need in trying or carinf about anything because  nothing changes. Its a long process in life but my anxiety  has taken over me for too long.

hello and welcome.

firstly, I want you to know this is a safe place for you to chat about what is happening in your life. I see you have started here to talk about it here., It sounds as you have resigned yourself about things in your statement "nothing changes".

Maybe I am overly hopeful, but posting here, you are wanting to find a way out - the light at the end of the tunnel. There is another thread on the forum here for quotes, and one I posted some time ago (now) was about moving a mountain, one stone at a time.

If you permit me to make a couple of suggestions...

(1) I know it is near the end of the school year and wondering if you have and are able to talk with a school counsellor about your situation.

(2) Another source of "help" might be Kids Helpline (https://kidshelpline.com.au/) and can also be reached on 1800 55 1800).  You can chat with people there and you can read the information on their website.

Lastly, there are also apps you could try out and if you are interested I could suggest some. And know that you are worthy of a happy life.

Hi bellze,

I am sorry you have been going through this, it must be hard for you. We are not judging you, this is a safe space. It must be challenging to see your mother going through depression whilst trying to deal with your own problems too. smallwolf suggested some good resources, I would recommend Kids Helpline and also reaching out to your school counsellor or a teacher you are comfortable with. My anxiety was healed by seeing a therapist at as young age, and I am sure this could help you too.

I hope things improve soon,

Jaz xx

Agree with both jaz28 and smallwolf. They made a lot of great points and suggestions.

Again going with the mountain analogy smallwolf has used - It's normal to swerve off the path. The fact you have reached out here is the first step you have made to keep moving forward. That's where the biggest change happens.

I feel that you want to put yourself out there but maybe something is holding you back? Is there something you want to particpate in but finding it hard to do?

I agree that reaching out to Kidshelpline is a good idea to help you work through this. But if you feel you don't want to talk on the phone remember they also have a web chat if you feel more comfortable typing rather than talking:
