Hey everyone. Really doing it hard ay. Was on medication to sleep and it made my ocd worse in the day. Tried to get off and my insomnia is worse than ever.
arrg honestly I’m tired but I can’t sleep. I put on a good front but I’m seriously over fighting all the time. I’m strong but I’m getting tired to be honest.
this all started from been woken up by bloody dogs in QLD. Now I have a reasonably quiet place but I am now unable to sleep. Typical lack of sleep led to mental illness and a phobia and this is leading to further lack of sleep.
honestly ay 😕

Hello Andre,
Im sorry your having trouble sleeping..We have a really good sleep thread here on BB...if you search “Sleep”..you might find something in there to help you..there are so many good ideas..
I
When I lay down to sleep..I listen to sleep stories..by Dan Jones...he has a soft voice and reads some stories to us..That takes us away on peaceful adventures..Listening to each word he says to distract our minds from negativity and our chatty mind...Sometimes your mind might wander away from the story..if so then just gently bring it back to the words of the story..
I believe that unless our mind is calm..then sleeping is not going to visit us...
I hope you might have a read of the “sleep” thread and maybe even try to listen to a sleep story..
My kindest and most caring thoughts dear Andre!
Grandy..

I tried and am listening to positive affirmations story etc. Nar I’m losing it ay. I haven’t slept properly since like 4 - 5 days and haven’t slept at all in nearly 3 days (2nights). I’m losing it. I don’t really want to be here anymore. If they had euthanasia in Australia id sign up.
I can’t be bothered anymore. If I can’t sleep naturally what’s the point of anything. I don’t even feel like getting on other meds, what is the point - too many side effects and they barely work, give you headaches, create dependence and tolerance and have withdrawals.
I didn’t see my life like this when I was growing up. I should of taken more care to de stress myself before it got too much ay.
I don’t even see a point in anything anymore.

Hey Andre,
Don't lose hope. There are still other suggestions to try...
- Although it sounds a little 'old granny', a relaxing long hot bath can loosen those tight muscles and tendons as well as the steam clearing the toxins and lungs.
- Another old remedy: a glass of warm (yuk) milk can settle the stomach to avoid hunger pangs during the night. Curiously, coffee can also aid relaxation despite its stimulant effect as caffeine improves blood flow.
- Rearrange your room (maybe apply some Feng Shui techniques- google some tips for bedrooms). Give it a thorough clean since any dust/mould spoors can interfere with breathing easily.
- Remove any LED clocks - the light is said to be disruptive even with eyes closed.
- Try reading a chapter of a book prior to bed to focus your mind on one activity.
- Check for any radiation sources that may be invading your space - try turning things off to find a possible source.
- Window open or closed? Whatever you have, try the opposite to see what happens.
- Too hot or too cold? Change the bed covers for different weights/temperatures, and also consider a good pillow and mattress (if budget permits).
Okay, so there is a whole lot you can try - maybe just the exhaustion of application might do the trick, huh?
Regards,
t.

Hello Andre,
I was saddened when I read your last post here..
Not sleeping does really increase our depression/anxiety to the point of thinking of unhealthy thoughts..
Please be bothered lovely Andre..Once your body has taken all it can without sleep...it will give in and sleep...Then you will feel a little better..hopefully a lot better within yourself..
Sunshine is very important for our body click..even 10 minutes a day is enough to help get those sleep endorphins back into sync with your body...Do you spend time outdoors?..I know when I’m feeling really exhausted and tired, I tend to stay inside and not do much at all...which I know is the wrong thing to do...
I can’t sleep without something to concentrate on, a very quiet room with no noise, is no good for me..because my mind starts to wander onto any and every negative thought it can find....and laying there with my eyes closed..begging sleep to come..makes me more anxious to sleep....There a piece of music by Marconi union....it’s called “weightless”..Maybe if you could try running that softly in your bedroom while your trying to sleep....I know that you said you tried music..but I just wanted to try again to help you..probably sound like a broken record...it’s just that I understand what no sleep can do to our physical/mental health..and reading that you would sign for euthanasia due to lack of sleep...is so very sad...
I really hope Andre that your Dr appointment will help you..
We are here for you Andre..listening to you with our care and hoping that we can help you..
My kindest and most caring thoughts..
Grandy..
ps..that beautiful cat you have for your Avatar ..is he/she your fur baby?

When your sleeping try zone out e.g forget any thoughts of your day or life or anything like that which might be keeping you up. If you have to think of something just think of odd things or things that make no sense might help put the mind to rest easier.
