Had an appointment with my psych yesterday, first time ive seen her in 6 weeks..
Apparently I have General Anxiety Disorder...my depression was brought on by the events that had happened but the GAD is the underlying issue...and my biggest problem is i try to predict the future and have a negative way of thinking and i "Catastrophize" things (ie worst possilble outcome is always what my mind is thinking)
She has a point, i have mediation tomorrow with "her" and my anxiety is peaking badly coz i keep thinking of things that might go wrong rather than what might go right...plus i really dont want to see her, havent spoken to her since the start of december and have seen her in passing twice at the 2 court dates...

Hi Matty
I can relate to what your psych has told you. I always catastrophize and my psych tells me too. I always think of the worst in everything never stop and think of a positive. But with CBT therapy with my psych I am slowly learning to change my way of thinking. It's a lot of black and white thinking.
Good luck tomorrow with the mediation.

dear Matty, have you made a decision on your job, you may have posted somewhere before I ask this.
I can see why you have GAD, it's all the worry about what you are going to do, what would suit Katy and what would suit you and the baby.
Your prime love for Katy is the major concern here if you accept the new job and how she is going to feel. Geoff.

Thanks Jo, Geoff and Neil
Jo - i just googled that CBT therapy, i might bring it up with her next time i see her see if it might help me
Geoff - i have a 2nd interview for a melbourne based role just waiting to hear back from the guy re time and date (will call me friday) - but Katy has said shes happy to move if i get the one that requires relocation
I am not in a good way at the minute im sitting at my desk nearly hyperventilating, trying to calm myself but its not working....I am so stressed about tomorrow...what if she denies me access? 😞

Oh man ... I've only just seen your post and I write this it's 9:10pm; way after you posted.
Matty - mate, please please, don't be thinking the worst. I don't know anything about these things, but I can't see how they could do that ... not to you, not after all the things you've put into place, to fix, to make right.
Try and be as calm as you can tomorrow - beforehand, I don't know what works for you, like having a coffee an hour before hand, or a walk - where's Katy tomorrow? Is she available to be a "call away" for you if you need?
My friend, my thoughts are with you and I hope it goes well for you.
Will be waiting on here for your post about how it all went - I'm hoping with crossed fingers that it's great news.
ps: do you know how HARD it is to type with crossed fingers? It's now close to midnite as I post this!! 🙂
