Hi I'm new to this forum. My anxiety really kicked in, in the last couple of months. Landlord is selling the place I'm renting. I've been behind in rent. Both my partner and I have health issues. Partner is the only one working. My anxiety started in 2013 when mum died, 2015 I had triple by-pass I cried for 2 weeks after my op. Some days I don't want to do anything, menopause doesn't help either. At the moment I am terrified of being locked out and lossing everything and 2 cats

Dear Tickletess
Hello and welcome to the forum. I am sorry you are having such a anxious time. Any loss can be stressful and I can see from your post how anxious you are.
If you scroll to the bottom of the page and look under The Facts you will find information about anxiety. You may already know some of this but it's good to refresh your knowledge. You can download any of the information. Have you completed any sort of checklist to see how your anxiety is affecting you. Try to complete the anxiety and depression checklist and take it to your GP.
What practical steps can you take to reduce this anxiety? What works for you?I have found having a list of things I like to do stuck to my fridge and when I cannot motivate myself to do something I can look at this list and try one of the activities. Can your partner help with the rent payments? Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mom. Also accept that it is OK to grieve. I still miss my mom though she died more than 20 years ago. Moms are special people and can offer so much comfort. It seems we never grow up entirely and always want mom around to be the person to help us understand why we have so much sadness as well providing a safe place for us just to be.
Have you spoken to your GP about this? You may find this beneficial. As you are not working your GP may bulk bill you. Worth asking.
The loss of our pets can be very upsetting and I can see how this adds to your anxiety. I know this probably sounds like a silly question but are you looking for somewhere else to live? There are organisations in the community that help people such as you to find somewhere to live. Your GP may know if there is someone in your area who can do this. Try some of the not-for-profit organisations. If your GP cannot help with counselling you may find he/she can refer you to somewhere to go.
Many people find posting in here helpful. Getting all your anxieties out of your body and perhaps writing about whats going on can help. Please write in.
Mary
