From an older man's perspective it all comes down to inner pride but that might not help.
For me it's all about a lady m asking an effort. Likewise some women would prefer men well groomed.
But regardless, your post suggests a low mood and maybe loneliness.
We are here if you'd like to talk further.

Hi 245,
delete: "pale, ghostly face"
insert: "fair complexion"
If I wear a wig, will I no longer be the person underneath it? Be comfortable with who you are, and do what you feel is good for you - others will gravitate to your individuality.
Regards,
t.

Hi 245,
Honestly when it come to wearing make-up it meant to be about confidence. Some people feel more comfortable without makeup and some don't it is personal preference. You should be comfortable in your own skin. Be yourself and the right people will love the real you.
Be you,
M

Hi Guest_245,
Wearing make up shouldn't be a way of getting men's attention. You need to be comfortable with yourself. Perhaps you think yourself as pale and ghostly, but could that be because you're feeling down all the time?
We often see ourselves worse than how others see us. If you have time, check out Dove's Real Beauty Sketches (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=litXW91UauE). I found this really eye-opening. And I'm sure your description of yourself is NOT what others see.
It's okay not to want to wear make up. I rarely do either - the thought of having a whole lot of chemicals on my face isn't very appealing. You are more than your physical appearance. Let who you are shine.
Take care,
M

Hey,
I just want to say that you have to stop wearing make up to impress men. You wear make up because it defines who you are and you have to wear it for yourself. You are beautiful for what you are, sweetie.

Hi Guest_245,
I am sorry you feel that way about yourself. I do get the pale complexion part, I am pale to the point of not being able to find makeup that matches my skintone, plus rosacea on top of that. I have battled with with low self esteem because of my skin during teens and early 20s. However, over time I learnt to accept and live with it. It should not define who you are. I am sure you are beautiful and have wonderful qualities as a person. I think self acceptance and self love is far more important than what others think (or what we think they may think). Once you learn to love yourself and be kind to yourself, your confidence will increase too and that confidence will bring the right people into your life.
Maybe try saying at least 3 things that you like about yourself each day and mean what you say. Also 3 qualities that you have and why you like them about yourself. Try doing that consistently for a month. That used to help me.
