I'm a girl...Narelle, 36, from Adelaide, single, unemployed, cat mum...um, what else...I probably shouldn't reveal so much, but may as well be honest, right?
I have both anxiety and depression, and am a pessimist. I have lost all my "friends" because of this and feel worthless and like giving up. I have a GP and a psychologist, but I'm not even sure the therapy (I've been going for a few years now) is working for me.
I have two favourite bands (Sixx:A.M. and Halestorm. True Violet is another on the top of my list right now) and I write band fan fiction. In the past I have depended on these two things to help me through life, but now that they're not really working, I decided to try here.
I just hope to have people to talk to, and maybe make some friends.

My cat's name is Buddy, that's what the shelter called him and it kind of felt right, so I kept it. Buddy loves his lead - anything to get outside 🙂
Buddy rotates favourite places I think, depending on if I'm home or not 🙂 He's got a window to sit at, a box or six, but lately he likes my bed, I guess in the colder weather he gravitates to where it's warm

It's where you take a band or singer, anyone you want really, and put them in fictional situations.
My last one had my celebrity crush meeting an emotionally disturbed girl after a concert, and the fic is what ensues after they meet.
I hope that explains it well enough 🙂

Oh... So do you have books published then?
Hey Emmy, I see your post just popped in there. Narelle's kitty cat is pretty cute isn't it?

Oh no...just write for fun. I only used to let a select few friends read them, but we're not talking now, so it's just me who sees them.
I'd like to get published but I'm not sure I could handle the rejection etc.

Yes, Sixx:A.M. is Nikki Sixx's band 🙂
I love Here's To Us and Mommy I'm Sorry as well.
Mommy I'm Sorry is a song that made me bawl when I heard it, makes me remember my mum. Mama by Il Divo is another one of "those" songs...
I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat right now because someone likes my music...makes me too happy, probably 🙂
I can't believe someone likes my thread...surreal...

Hey Narelle, Emmy and Melissa.
Just saying hello Narelle, are you OK today? I had an image of a Cheshire cat in my head, when you said you smiled like one. Hey I am glad you smiled though. How is your kitty cat Buddy? I would love to get another cat, but unfortunately I am not able to at the moment. I noticed that you posted on a couple of other threads. Anyway hope you are OK.
And Melissa, I agree it is great when you feel like you can connect with another person. I have to be honest though, being connected is still foreign to me, as I find it quite a challenge. There is been a couple on here that I have felt this feeling at times, but generally speaking I don't connect that well or something. Hope you are OK Melissa.
Shell xx
