Hi Kimmy,

I'm sorry for your challenge, but I it's good to see you're actively seeking professional treatment.

I'm not a professional but there're different treatment including taking meds. Different people have treatment that suits them best.

You can have a look here: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/anxiety/treatments-for-anxiety

For further guidance including pros and cons (side effects) of taking meds, it'll be a good idea to ring Beyondblue hotline 1300 224 636 (24/7) and have a chat with a professional.

Hope everything will be better.

Hi Kimmy,

Welcome to the community here. For me it has always been important to have regular contact with a Dr when starting a new medication in case of any concerns and to check the dosage is right for you. In my experience, it may take a while for the medication to be effective depending on what it is.

Late last year my anxiety was spiked and I was given medication to assist in the short term until I was able to put other strategies into place to help myself. A combination of both can be effective.

Do you know what triggers your anxiety? Are there ways you can reduce your reactions to triggers? I know that is not always possible as I discovered last year!

Hope you find some solutions that assist you. Kind regards form Dools
