An interesting question, which may differ not only with everybody but in different circumstances, because if you wish for something to happen and it doesn't, then anxiety maybe encountered, and I'm only saying this due to experience.
Anxiety can then make you do something or perhaps not do it of the ordinary, producing a positive or negative effect linking them both together.
