Dear LilyChicken~
Both the money and the feeling you should have been sharper are hurdles to overcome. Unfortunately there are people that deliberately take advantage of others -they often pick on caring and empathetic people. They can be real experts.
For a start may I ask if you have reported the matter? Sometime that can stop this from happening to others, if it is an internet based thing there is a site to report that to - again you may be helping someone else

For hte money, if oyu are in difficulties have a word to a financial advisor at Anglicare, who can recomend how best to cope. 1300 111 278 during business hours may put you in touch wiht financial conceling services in your state.

Sorry, the internet grabbed my post before I'd finished and edited it -so you get to see all my typos:)
Sometime it is the feelings of betrayal that are hardest to deal with. We tend to judge others by our own standards, if we are honest and reliable we naturally expect the same of others.
I've read your other posts and know the illnesses you are having to struggle wiht, they of course only make everything harder. Do you have anyone to support you, that you can talk to frankly and will care? Isolation is not good.
If you need to talk then our own 24/7 Help Line (1300 22 4636) is always there. We are here too

Its okay that you made that mistake. We all make mistakes.
Try not to beat yourself up about it. Hundreds of people unfortunately fall for these traps. Even the most smartest and brightest people. Try to rationalise the situation with yourself. No one is perfect.
Im sorry you are facing financial hardship, however try to find it within yourself to forgive yourself. Money will come and go.
Put your health first ! above all else. You are not the first or last person to be taken advantage of. Unfortunately we live in a world where people do this as there 9-5. Its very sad.
Don't cry!
