Dear  New Member~

Welcome here to the Forum, I"m glad you came because I suspect, like me, one can focus on hte wrong things. I have an anxiety disorder and very often and completely wrapped up in what can go wrong.

May I ask if there are other things apart from the house that cause you a lot of concern?

Of course things can go wrong with a house, however many are minor and just abut all can be fixed if they do occur, to  worry excessively is crossing your bridges before you come to them -they may never happen. You can realistically look after a house and keep maintenance and security as well as you can, and that is probably about all.

I find when I"m obsessing about something like the car it can be a big help if there is someone you trust or respect to take what  I am thinking and put it in a more reasonable context. I'm very lucky in having both my partner and my psych who understand what is happening and do this for me, get me to practice exercises and generally break the loop of worry.

Can I ask if you have someone to help you in this way?

If you are unsure if your thoughts are realistic you can self-assess on this site, the test only gives you a very rough indication, however is something you can take to a GP and discuss matters, or just go to a GP anyway and say how you have been feeling.
