Back in November. I was compromised by a virus and had a social media account stolen since then I have felt like I’m being watched, even though I’ve taken every single step and measure to resecure everything but I’m so scared that this person will show up somewhere else, continue to have nightmares Just don’t know how to cope or deal with it every DM ping increase my heart rate…I keep trying to convince myself that I’m back in control but I just don’t know what to trust…i don’t know how to move past this without looking over my shoulder

Hi RCWolf,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I can tell that this has caused significant stress and anxiety. The feeling of being watched and the ongoing fear can be quite distressing.

While you've already taken steps to re-secure your accounts, it might be worth consulting with a cybersecurity expert such as IDCARE to ensure all possible vulnerabilities are addressed.

In addition, educate yourself further on digital security and privacy will be helpful. Understanding how to protect yourself can empower you and might help reduce some of the anxiety.

If every DM causes stress, you might want to consider changing your notification settings to reduce the frequency of these alerts. Only checking messages at specific times of the day might help manage the anxiety.

Hope this helps a bit.

Warmly,

Mark
