Health Related Anxiety

Hi there,

I'm new to this, so feeling a bit nervous! I'm really struggling with my anxiety at the moment. I've been having spasms in my chest, I guess you can call them, for quite some time now, and after numerous GP & hospital visits, my GP referred me to a Cardiologist. I was given the all clear! That gave me some relief, but that was short lived. I still have spasms, which then puts me into panic mode, which makes me feel physically ill. It's a really vicious cycle.I SHOULD be happy & content with the specialist's outcome, but am finding it really hard to move on. Does anyone else out there have health anxiety, and if so, would really like to hear how you cope with it. It's really starting to wear me down, and in turn is having an effect on my family. Thanks for letting me share!

Omg ruruibby, you've just described my current situation, especially about the lump part. Found 1 in what I feel as an unusual space and have now got myself into a frenzy. I seem to be overthinking every ailment. I'm supposed to be a zumba instructor and can't even distract myself by focusing on my coreo. Finding it also hard to keep my mind off it.

Hi Mez79, I find it hard to get my mind off things like that too! I think so much into something especially with my health! As soon as I see a dr about it and get referred to a specialist, I always tell myself I have to stop doing this but then almost straight away I spot something else and think the worst then it all starts again... I also wonder what if the dr made a mistake or mixed up my results... it’s exhausting... 😞
