Hi everyone,
I wanted to post a thread as I've been feeling so alone lately. I have chronic anxiety and depression and my life is very stressful right now, I've noticed I have been isolating myself lately and maybe relapsing.
I have just been diagnosed with iron deficiency which may explain why I have been feeling so tired lately - however, the underlying cause may be a chronic autoimmune disorder I am going through the stages of being tested for. All of this on top of my normal daily stressors (currently working part time and studying full time), living 600 km away from all family and support systems and feeling distanced from my partner has got me feeling considerably down.
I feel embarrassed to talk to my GP as I already have so much going on and I haven't had much success with psychologists in the past.
I guess I am looking for advice and maybe just someone to talk to and tell me what I am feeling right now is normal.

Hi Anna,
welcome here! I hope you know you’re not alone; beyond blue is a wonderful way to chat to others who go through similar thinking and feelings.
What you’re feeling is completely NORMAL! Having an iron deficiency would make you tired but for me anxiety and depression make me extra tired and I just want to sit in bed all day and not socialise! Well done on getting more tests done to see if u have an auto immune disorder. I’m terrified of tests and drs and especially the results of things. I literally cry and shake like a baby.
Anxiety is not a nice thing to gave but I’m so glad u reached out and hopefully this can be a small way for u to deal with things.
Have you told your feelings to your GP? Usually they go through a questionnaire with you to see if your depressed/anxious.
Mum on antidepressants now and they’ve helped stop the crying. I also went and saw a naturopath who has helped a lot also. Just knowing your body is getting all the vitamins and nutrients it needs tends to help our minds too.. maybe that’s something u could look into? Just some suggestions; do keep in touch.
