Hi thanks for letting me join. I am hoping.g that by being on this forum that I might learn techniques on managing my health anxiety. I have been a suffer since I was a child. I find .most days are crippling with anxiety and the only way I
Manage to have a few hours of peace is by going to work part time in the afternoons. While I am working I have to completely focus on my client and what their needs are and this means I have no space in which to panic

Hello Dear Guest_45944236,
A very warm and caring welcome to the forums, we are so pleased you joined our beautiful community…
I don’t struggle with health anxiety but do struggle with anxiety and a few more mental health illnesses….
Distraction is a major tool for helping us with most types if not all types of anxiety…While your mind is concentrating on something else, it cannot focus on your health anxiety as our minds as complex as they are can only think of one thing at a time….That’s why when your fully focused on your work and clients your mind and thoughts are not in health anxiety mode….
Listening to music and singing along with the lyrics is one way to distract your thoughts, doing a hobby or passion is another way…We have a thread that talks about grounding ourselves when anxiety is high…maybe if you feel up to it you can check it out….”in the staying well forums..”grounding-yourself-what-is-it-and-how-do-you”…hopefully it can you with some grounding techniques to help you through your health anxiety when your overwhelmed with those thoughts…
My kindest thoughts with care dear Guest….
Grandy..
