Gradually becoming health anxious?

Hi all,
A few weeks ago I seemed to come down with some sort of viral infection. I experienced fatigue, chest pain (random sharp pain), nausea, headaches, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath and overall weakness. It eventually somewhat relented and I went back to work thinking that after a time I'd be back to normal completely. It never felt like this happened however. I would have days where I would become nauseous again, experience headaches or rapid heart rate. I had blood tests done twice (once at the start of all this) and one this week. Both came back normal, as did the chest x-ray I had.
This kinda felt like it drove me to want an answer though, and I turned to Dr. Google on a number of occasions despite me knowing how bad that is. I've had nights of lack of sleep and just a continued feeling of "not right".
While all this was happening, I have been worried about a new job I am potentially starting - wondering if I'm good enough for it, fun thoughts like that.
I guess my question is, is it common for anxiety to cause some of those symptoms above? I'm usually not that anxious of a person but I'm starting to feel like the reality is that I'm making this worse myself...
Appreciate everyone's time, thank you.

FoggyAfternoon,
Welcome to the forum..
Well done for srarting your own thread and writing your first post.
It can be scary when you have a range of physical symptoms and you wonder if it is part of anxiety.
I think it is common to worry about one’s symptoms. if you are concerned go to the doctor so you can check out your health.
I know when I get run down I am more likely to get a cold or a gastric infection.
i think if you can learn to know how you body reacts so you can read the signs when you are anxious and maybe do calm breathing or whatever helps you.
Thnaks for sharing your story.
Quirky

Hi FoggyAfternoon,
Welcome to the forums and thank you for being here. I'm sorry that you're struggling with these health issues, and can understand the need for some answers.
Anxiety can absolutely cause those symptoms that you are experiencing. There's no one symptom I've heard of that couldn't be traced back to anxiety - the mind/body connection is very powerful!
While I would never tell you to dismiss what you are feeling, I would encourage you to only trust yourself and your GP/s (even if you did get a second opinion), and to know that if this is anxiety - that's okay too.
