Hi, I haven't been on here for ages and I've been getting there, have had bad times but good times as well.
Had some feelings & not sure if it's okay to feel like it,
At work, people are stressed and I feel for them but realize it's their own making & there's nothing I can do to relieve it. I've just got to go with flow & agree with them, so arguments won't come.
Is it alright to not want to be around people when their stressed. The people are higher ups and to be fair they're only new in the job, bur I have a feeling it's their personality, not the position and nothing I can do, it's for them to work it out.
Hope everyone else is getting there. It's hard to keep mentally healthy and be kind to others & not take out my stress on others, I answered back to someone when I should have been quiet.

Hi JacintaMarie!
Welcome back. No I don't think there is anything wrong with that at all. It's your prerogative to handle the situation for what's best for you so long as it's not affecting others. I agree though, it can sometimes be hard to be nice and kind all the time. Just remember to take stock during those moments and maybe take a step back. Thanks for the well wishes. Hope you're having a good start to the new year.

JacintaMarie,
Thank you so much for opening up to us in your post, and welcome to the forums. I feel that, and yes that's very normal. It can be difficult being around people who are constantly stressed, because it takes a toll on the people around them. Feelings filter through to other people. Just ensure that you're taking care of yourself during this time - if you feel like you're absorbing their stress, take some time to yourself to breathe, let out your feelings, and find some time (perhaps after work or in your break) to engage yourself in something you really enjoy doing.
I'm not sure whether this would be applicable at your work, but is there some way to submit anonymous feedback to the people higher up? If so, would you feel comfortable suggesting some kind of workplace wellbeing intervention? Even something like a social event can do wonders for staff morale, if this is an option. You have greater insight into your workplace than I do, but if this is something that could be achievable, you may like to consider suggesting it.
I hope this advice resonates with you, please feel free to chat with us some more if you need. We're here to support you.
Take care, SB
