Why is it that I constantly compare my appearance to other people. I am a male that is 5 foot 8. I’m 22 years old. At 75kilos. Just today I saw a man that looked better than me, he had a v shaped chest with a six pack abs. He gets plenty of attention especially from the ladies but I get ignored. No matter how I try too look good I always feel ugly when I go outside. Is there something wrong with me. How do you feel when there’s someone better looking than you?

Hi Justin,
I am sorry for what you are going through. I understand how you feel. It's a human thing to compare ourselves with others constantly. It can be so exhausting.
There is nothing wrong with you. The guy you were comparing yourself to, probably compares himself with others. No matter how look, you will always compare yourself.
Here are a few tips I use when I start comparing myself to others:
- Practice being grateful for what you have
- Focus on your strengths. What do you have that no one else does?
- Don't feel like your losing because someone else is winning. Celebrate their success while working on your own.
- Learn to compete with yourself, not others.
Please stay safe and I am here to chat whenever.
