Are we really on the brink of WW3

Maybe I'm an odd ball. But the current state of the world has me quietly pooping my pants. I won't lie this all started with Donald Trump being elected president. But ever since my whole outlook on life has just turned into one anxious mess.

No, I'm not putting the blame on Donald. I think possibly the media attention has just made me more aware of the going ons in the world. Russia/American relations, China/American relations, South China Sea, Russia/Nato, Syria, Ukraine, trade wars.

Its all just kind of overwhelmed me and to a point where it is controlling my life.

I realize no one can say with 100% certainty that war wont break out. But I know there are some extremely knowledgeable people on this forum, so just hearing your opinions might help.

Hope everyone feels a bit better about the world 6 months on since this topic was last spoken.

I believe that the world is an amazing place and that goodness always win in the end.

Love is the thing that will defeat fears. In this day and age it good to hear about the problems as we can be more aware and open to solutions. The world is much smaller place these days and it a global economy so if a world war starts everyone would lose.

I think Nuclear weapons have made the world a safer place. It stop other countries invading other. No big superpowers will ever fight each other.

Take care all. Believe. Life is wonderful. See the beauty it holds.

All the very best.

I did feel better but now with what happened in syria etc just feel like crap again. Was on holiday at same place i was last year when all my anxiety came back with a vengeance. Papers talk about ww3. I just can't read news anymore. I was getting back to it but with trump et al i just can't go there. Hard to get out of bed again. My son was asking me why do i look sad. I just feel scared for him and his future. I really hope things get better soon.

Hi Bookgirl

It's been a while. I used to be similar, worrying all the time. Perhaps if you read this, use google

Topic: worry worry worry- beyondblue

I've been following the politics and the reality of WW3. Frankly its is unlikely to become a huge event, large enough to effect us.

Russia is proven, with their small income called GDP to have maintained the siloes that house the nuclear weapons well enough to let them launch. Also, they and USA know that if they did, they too would be wiped off the map. It isn't going to happen. More realistically there will be a war with conventional weapons.

Where is the safest place on earth? NZ, Australia and southern America.

Now, as that thread above suggests, worrying will benefit no one, in fact it is the biggest negative threat to your child around him. He only sees your sadness, he doesn't know about the volatile world. Looking sad will make him feel insecure.

Thks for letting me vent. This stuff has been a trigger for my anxiety since i was a kid. Plus i am getting overwhelmed with stuff at work and so the short break i had ended up with me falling in a heap again. Seems to be when i am not in my normal routine that i fall apart the most. Has happened last 3 holidays i've had. Going to europe in sept so need to try and sort this out. Joys of being anxious all my life. Had a day in bed because sometimes i just need to get my head straight and that helps. Thx for being there

Hey Bookgirl, its my pleasure.

Anxiety, mmm, started having that in 1987. Prior to that I was manic, add the two and bamm!!

So I embarked on fixing my anxiety. 22 years later I finally knew it was fully eliminated.

I had to get things into perspective, do the relaxation exercises, get things into perspective realistically and think first before I acted.

It is all in this thread-

use google (you only need to read the first post)
