Hello,

Sorry to hear you've been under a lot of stress. Would it be possible to talk to some of the other employees about these worries, and maybe see if they can share any tips from when they first started? They might have some helpful wisdom to share. I wish you the best of luck!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I think it might help if you can try talking back to your anxiety.

If we look at the evidence your fear of failure is irrational. You know how to do the work. You won the position on merit.  Your TAFE and employer are happy with your performance. The evidence shows that you can do this!

When you feel anxious at work tell yourself: I can do this; they chose me because of my great skills and abilities; I deserve this job. The goal is to replace the irrational thoughts with realistic thoughts.

We haven’t met but I know you can succeed because the evidence tells me this is so.
I wish you all the best and I’m happy to talk some more.

Kind thoughts to you

  1. I am very sure that you are more than capable of doing a great job. It sounds like everyone is really happy with your work but you! You need to relax and not obsess about your work because you are doing an excellent job. Please just take time out. On the weekend do nothing but rest your mind and body. Take time for you! It is so important that you do this! Listen to calming music, I you tube meditation music and close your eyes. Think of one thing that makes you happy and keep focus on that one thing. Every time your mind wanders bring it back to that one thing! And take at least 10 deep and slow breaths in and out whilst you are thinking of this happy thing. You will feel better straight away. When u start feeling better do something that soothes you - don’t think about work again until you need to go back. Take a break from it to recover. You are at the peak of your anxiety right now which suggests an overload - your mind is overloaded and exhausted and it needs a break! Rest your body and mind. Get some sleep or watch a good movie. Go for a nice walk in nature or read a good book. I like to watch documentaries on you tube about reincarnation and life after death. Google Raymond Moody and see what he has to say. You will see that everything that we are going through in this life is not that important in the scheme of things 😊 Go onto you tube and search for: A reason to stop worrying - it is a 4 minute clip on you tube and helps heaps with anxiety. The smiling mind is another good app to get. It gives you methods for coping! Good luck
