I have suffered from physical symptoms for around 5 years.
I get racing heart beat, muscle weakness, red blotchy rash on my neck and chest. The worst are the exclusively stomach related symptoms nausea, feeling sick, vomiting, and no appetite.
When I have a period of several months in a row of these symptoms it has lead to weight loss. I can't eat.. People comment on it. I feel so ashamed of myself. I wish I could turn the switch to anxiety off and regain control of how I feel.

Lately I have been feeling like I am almost about to pass out or faint in addition to episodes of the nausea and racing heart beat. I feel so overwhelmed and anxious I can't escape the situation. It sort of feels like my blood pressure goes down & up quickly and I feel I am not in control of my body.

Yep that's anxiety.. and it hurts but it doesn't get any worse than that.

try get some confirmation from your gp that these are symptoms of anxiety and ask to see a psychologist. It is something you can get passed, you just need to not give up looking for the answer xx

Hi graysky.

I fell your pain, I have had it pretty much every night for the past 5 months.

I do read it does let up eventually and ease with time. Keep that in mind that things like this can be temporary.

i have not got to the point where I feel like fainting but the sunken feeling in my stomach, Nausea, racing heart and head rush feeling.

wheb this happens I have recently found a low dim room and listening to music can help calm me down.

Im not sure if it is common to have it only at night and pretty much every night but does sound similar to what your experiencing.

Does anyone get the physical symptoms without any trigger or being in a relaxed mood when it occurs.

It is common to only happen at a certain time of the day for example I only get t at night time. (6pm onwards) for months on end.

Yes Lm.. mostly for me it's out of the blue. I believe the stress lingers in the nervous system. I went to sit down and watch a movie with mum at home the other night feeling fine, and instantly got some symptoms and had a panic attack.

it happens to me anytime of day or night, but I know the mornings are hardest to get going and feel that time is easiest to fall into anxiety for me.

the last few days I've had some reassurance from my gp and psychologist. Also I've reeeeeally pushed myself to get out and see them and go and play a game of tennis today. I had panic attack at my psychologist appointment and did some breathing and focusing on tensing and relaxing my feet and next muscle to distract my mind and relax.. pfft. I was still in panic but walked out of there ( my mum was with me) support helps, reach out. I forced myself to a cat scan of the brain straight after. The next day was a doctor appointment to get blood test results and cat scan and everything was fine. I'm saying , although it was so scary, being brave with a goal in mind of what I'm doing will ease the suffering and will get me better. But it takes positivity, confident thoughts of yourself.

before I left for tennis today.. I looked in the mirror and did myself up nicely and tell myself.. you're a good looking lad. Getting to tennis I feel it coming and remind myself I am here, I am me.. I couldn't stay for coffee chat and mum took me straight out to have a hit. She tells me 'that Aussie actor' (wolverine) gives his anxiety a name, and talks to it tells it to go away. So straight away I called it roger and told roger to leave me alone because I'm going to play tennis.

so with all that the last 3 days have been successful and I'm positive of my goal of healing fully now and finding my way to manage this.

today I preferred a book on cognitive behavioural therapy so I hope I get even more tricks to disintegrate this mental illness.

Thank you for your reply. I does help to know these things can spark your out of no where for others also. I will try the tensing and the relaxing of the feet. I spose it would help to draw my attention away and focus on doing that.

Is it possible to get rid of anxiety. I read people have had it from childhood to adult hood and seem as though it's just part of them. but I never read of those that have gotten rid of it.

I just feel this will be me every day from now on.

I don't believe it's a lifetime Illness at all... I have had panic attacks for 8 years although they came approx. every two years and each time I recovered within a few weeks enough to have a good couple of years again.

this time for me I have not recovered since November last year and have needed to believe, seek more help, do more and change my lifestyle and beliefs for good. I believe I need to learn more about myself... I live in a big city, and I'm a sensitive person. I am going to start cognitive behavioural therapy when my book comes in and going to read a book on 'the sensitive person' I don't have any money but am trying to find a psychiatrist who may take me in for a session on Medicare to find a more appropriate medication. Then also keeping regular visits with my psychologist.

this is my journey.. but everyone is a bit different, but some things are the same and may help others. Our brains are fine I can say that. But our mind can become stressed.. bringing it back will take courage and time. I am very confident we can all recover.

be gentle on yourself.. you're a Devine spirit with a purpose.. put any bad habits and memories behind you and be confident in yourself and recovery..

What a relief! I thought I was going mad. I've never had chest pains so didn't consider anxiety as a problem. How wrong was I. My GP finally put me on medication after constant visits thinking I had every illness in the world from MS to Ovarian Cancer. I would read facebook stories about sick people, they would describe their symptoms and I would convince myself that I had them.

My ex husband was diagnosed with cancer and I think the fear of us both dying and leaving the children sent me off the deep end.

I have always been a highly stressed person masking it behind humour and loads of "I'm fine". But once the physical symptoms hit there was nowhere to hide.

The constant tingling and numbness when I cross my legs at work and when I lie on my side in bed. Feeling of doom and constantly fearing every symptom my body has. Urge to urinate all the time. Sharp pains in the ribs, terrible indigestion but the worst symptom is that every muscle in my body is so tense, I can't relax. My arm is painful to touch and my back pain is so severe that it wakes me up through the night. New to the symptoms are the muscle spasms at night that wake me up. Constantly sick with colds and chest infections even though I have rarely been sick. I seem to have one every other week.

My job is stressful at the moment and I feel constantly anxious that I have to check emails night and day, I can't be without a job, I have to provide for my 2 kids.

I have put on a load of weight, have stopped exercising and can't seem to get out of my own way. I even worry about the health of the dog and think that he is going to die.

So the medication hasn't worked yet, but it's early days. I think the best medicine I have had is finding this forum and reading about what others have done. I will try yoga and meditation they seem to help others. Thank you all!

Yes a medication will help you.. keep talking to your gp you may need to up the dosage or maybe use a different one.. but they helped me a lot.

also absolutely meditation. Just 10 minutes a day even. Your mind needs rest it's clear in what you wrote.

but yep you're not alone... if you ever need to talk we are here 😊

Oh and get off those Facebook health ads.. they're false and misleading and no googling symptoms. You will be fine xx
