Anxious

Hi guys, today is the day I go see the neurologist about all my weird symptoms I experience everyday! It started off as what I believe to be anxiety I felt panicky a lot, heavy chest, chest pain, burning sensations etc. then it turned into tingling in my legs and numb patches.. I have weaned off my tablets that I was taking for a few months and since taking half for 10 days then stopping after that I have experienced burning sensation in my scalp and it seems to be persistent all week.. I feel hot all over & burning .. I will bring it up with neurologist but Wanted to know if anyone has has this symptom persistent? I know I am stressed as I have a little baby I am looking after and I do have some anxiety. I have a headache sometimes that makes my head feel heavy too..

Dear Rach93...

I just seen your post now...and am hoping your visit tomorrow the neurologist goes well for you today..

I don’t have health anxiety but I could only image how terrible that would be....I put my trust into my Dr. and professionals....I know that’s hard to do and anxiety can give us lots of different symptoms and scenarios...

Hoping the very best for you today and would love it if you would call back in and talk some more if your feeling up to it...

My kindest and most caring thoughts dear Rach..

Hi,

thanks for replying .. it went well I was so convinced I have MS he did a neuro in clinic exam on me testing reflexes strength etc and it all looked ok and he told me he knew 100% it wasn’t MS and he’s only sending me for a MRI to help me with anxiety.. it reassured me for a few hours then more hours went by and I’m back at square one.. I keep saying to myself what if I didn’t say enough & I left out 3 symptoms I have I forgot to mention them and I keep thinking what if I told him them and that made a different.. I am struggling.. I have to wait upto 6 weeks for mri.. but at the moment I have burning feeling in my feet and leg.. 😔 he told me it’s anxiety related but I don’t think anxiety can cause symptoms like this off and on every day.. I started my new anxiety tablets today maybe they are making me feel worse and causing this burning sensation I am feeling.

Dear Rach!

Thats great news from your GP..telling you he is 100% sure it’s not MS....

Anxiety can make us believe we have major things wrong with us...

Can you try to distract your mind away from thinking or trying to feel what’s going on in your leg/feet...The more our minds on a particular part of our body...that part of our body our minds on ....most definitely we will feel something there...whether it be an itch..burning, numbness, tingling...our mind with anxiety can put all sorts of scenarios into your brain.....Distraction helps move our mind away from those thoughts....

If your up to it...Checkmput the Grounding thread...search.”Grounding What is it and how do we”...there are lots of ideas on grounding yourself when your going through panic/anxiety attacks..and the also work with health anxiety.....another good thread is our “Mindfulness” It’s helps explain all about living in the present...by lots of community members...

Thank you for the update....here anytime you want to talk..

Hugs lovely Rach..

Hi Rach93 I had all of the same symptoms after coming off that medication. Google reviews what others have experienced when discontinuing the antidepressant it answered a lot of my concerns

Hi, puppyhapyiness

thank you so much for your reply! I never thought I’d experience withdrawal symptoms and didn’t realise even after a week you can still get them I just checked online and people have said same thing as what I am experiencing - I have insomnia & also waking up drenched in sweat.. bad night sweats and feel so hot all over.. that burning in the back of my scalp must be a withdrawal symptom. Thank you makes me feel a lot better

Hi Rach,

I know this is an old post but I am experiencing very similar symptoms as you. I have tingling legs constantly, tingling hands, muscle spasms and twitching everywhere. I’ve been to ER twice and been seen by a neurological in ER- all think I am healthy and it is psychosomatic. I have also have a brain Mri and countless blood tests. Currently considering getting a second mri as I just cannot believe that this is all just in my head. How have you been going with your symptoms?
