Hi guys,
I have struggled with anxiety my whole life and are currently takin steps towards managing it better. Anyway lately I have been feeling anxious towards food. I have a high metabolism so I get hungry a lot but I also struggle with appetite and worry if I get too hungry I am not going to be able to eat at all and that will make me feel worse. So I rarely let myself get truly hungry, leading to over eating. I also get low blood sugar easily and get shaky and a bit lightheaded when I don’t have food for a few hours. How can I feel better about this?

Hi T173019,
Firstly, welcome to the forums.
Food and anxiety almost seem to go hand in hand sometimes, is your anxiety directly relating to the worry of being too hungry which would lead you to overeat or if you don't eat, you will get shaky and a bit lightheaded, just trying to gauge where the anxiety is coming into play, it may be for both of them.
You said you have been dealing with anxiety your whole life but are taking steps towards managing it, what steps are you taking if you do not mind me asking? I think the keys to anxiety is working with a psychologist to work through why the anxiety is there weather it be from the food or social or what not, they can help you understand why you feel this way.
I do apologise that I cannot give direct advice how to feel better about it because I haven't been through it directly but have dealt with anxiety for around 10 years and it wasn't until I went and got help from a psychologist did I start to understand it more.
My best for you,
Jay

HI jay
I think its related to both, I don’t like feeling sick so avoid things that could make me feel that way.
I am doing a couple of neurofeedback sessions a week to try and calm down my hyper brain activity.

Hi T173019,
That sounds interesting, is that something your doctor has advised you do to help calm it down?
Have you found it helps?
My best,
Jay
