Anxiety twitching?

Hello everyone. I’ve been constantly having what I think might be health anxiety. About a month ago I was sitting in class when I got this overwhelming feeling like I was going to almost pass out. Got very tunnel visioned and felt like I was literally going to die if I didn’t keep myself awake. My left leg went a little numb and tingly and I was able to walk around and calm myself down. I had something similar happen approximately 8 months ago so I was able to keep myself pretty calm and it stopped after about 45 min.
two days later I’m sitting on my couch and I can feel a lot of tension in my jaw so I keep thinking about it. After clenching my jaw a few times I felt the right side of my face go numb and the side of my lip and right arm. Again I was able to kind of sit there and calm myself down and it stopped after about 15 min.
i went to the doctor and at that point I was told just to get some blood work done. A few does later I found out my ALT liver levels were a little high which freaked me out and I was convinced I had some sort of liver disease. I did two more blood tests within the next 3 weeks and they came back fine so that was cleared.
after all of this I called my doctor back and brought up the tingling and numbness and insisted I get an MRI done.
just last week I randomly started getting twitches all over the place (calves, feet, thighs, arms). My calves go nuts and it’s literally an all day thing.
i ended up falling down the google trap and have literally convinced myself that I have ALS. The twitching is constant and it’s all I can think about and just thinking it could be something serious freaks me out which probably isn’t helping.
Don’t know if anyone has any advice or a similar experience.
Thanks!

Hey
Ive been searching and searching about your post. I am 100% not a doctor or anything close. All I can say is that anxiety is a strange thing. What I have been thinking is that due to your anxiety, the adrenaline going through your body is making your muscles twitch. A similar thing used to happen to me when I was getting panic attacks. My body was in fight or flight mode constantly and the stress of it was making my muscles twitch. My advice would be to try and write down any forms of stress in your life right now, and try to pin point something that could be looming in the back of your mind constantly. With anxiety its not always right infront of you, its whats ticking in your subconscience. Try to relax your mind and your body in anyway you can. Sounds a little silly but could help. While doing this, look for doctors and phycologists that know what to look for to help you. Normal doctors dont know what to look for.
Hope this helps!

Hey thanks for the reply!
Yeah I’ve been trying breathing and meditation exercises. The twitching has been going on for a week now and it’s honestly all I can think about now, especially after googling the symptoms. Very hard to clear your mind when something physical is happening to your body.

Hi,
it sounds like you had a sort of panic attack how you described it with the tunnel vision and passing out. Was anything bothering you or stressing you that day or week?? Maybe also you weren’t feeling good? But other than that I doubt it was something serious. It was good of you to see a gp but I doubt they’ll find anything wrong. Just take it easy and what helps me when I have a panic attack, even if I’m in a crowd, I stop and block the other people out and just focus on my breathing in and out. Just stay calm. Theres this thing on google I think it’s called the breathing square gif and you breathe in and out the same speed as the square moving. Check it out.
take care
