Anxiety triggers Anger

Hi all,

First time reaching out on a forum like this. Main reason it’s taken me so long is that I have only just realised that the idea of talking to someone face to face, or even to someone I hold dear, is just not realistic for me.
For some reason it actually compounds my anxiety which comes out in my worst trait, anger!

This is something I hate. Let me say right now, that this anger is not physical in any way, but I would say it’s bordering on mental abuse to those close to me as I am unable to talk to them about anxiety or make them understand on how I’m feeling.

has anyone else had an instance like this when the pills are only doing so much, and y out feel toy can’t talk to a professional or to those toy love and it makes it worse?

Just looking for some coping mechanisms

Hi! It's my first time on this forum as well and I understand exactly how you feel. My anxiety gets so bad and it does result in me lashing out at my family when all theyre trying to do is help. It feels impossible to explain the extent of the anxiety to others so I just keep it inside most days, does anything help you ease the feeling? Exercise or music?

welcome Matt_y and Jazzy to the forum.

Many people reading your post Matt_y will relate to what you wrote.

You have insight into why face to face interaction makes your anxiety worse and brings out anger.
Jazzy suggested something to help ease the feeling, maybe exercise or music. It could be anything that helps to lessen that intense feeling. Some people try meditation ,walking, making something, gardening or anything that helps. Sometimes it can mean trying several things.

For me walking helps and removing myself from the situation.
Also writing down how I am feeling can help too.

There are many threads on anxiety if you look through that section you may find threads thst interest you.
