Hey all,
I received my 2nd shot of Pfizer 3 weeks ago, and my heart rate has been seriously high on and off since. I've always suffered with anxiety and had alot of health anxiety when I was younger, and I can't tell if this is just my anxiety over all the side effects you read about, or if there is anything wrong, I went to ED and they did an ecg but couldn't draw blood because I am scared of needles 😞 they said the ecg is ok but had some small abnormalities... I am going to a gp tomorrow and hopefully will be able to let them take a blood test and get to the bottom of it, if it's anything, the doctor at the hospital said it's nothing sinister and they have had alot of people with this but nothing has been wrong and they don't know why people keep going to the hospital with this... has anyone here experienced this for weeks post vaccine and if so, how do you cope? Thank you.

Hello Buzzybees,
Well done on getting your 2nd COVID vaccination...I had a hard time with my anxiety getting my first Astra Zeneca jab*...It took me up until my third attempt at my Drs to do that....When it was time for my 2nd jab, my Dr told me that the chances of side effects are so much more less now then the first jab....Still didn’t stop me from scanning my body to check for side effects though....
I’m due for my booster in April...no doubt anxiety will be accompanying me...
You done good to the ED...and having an ecg done....Talking out your concerns and symptoms will be an excellent thing to do when you next visit your Dr...so your Dr can investigate what you’re feeling...and help to reassure you..
My kindest thoughts dear Buzzybees..
Grandy..

Hi Buzzybees101 (love your username!)
I am sorry to hear you've had struggles with your heart rate. As Ggrand also said, good on your for getting things double checked at ED. It can be super helpful to just double check and find out for sure! I hope your GP appointment today goes well and you are able to discuss your concerns to help find some reassurance around it. You are doing all the right things!
Anxiety and health anxiety can be really difficult to go through, I also have both of these so I understand how hard it can be. In this forum we're all here for you to chat whenever needed!
In my personal experience, after both my first and second AstraZeneca vaccines I was worried & ended up going to my GP both times to check everything was fine (as I had a yucky reactions - my body always seems to react a lot of vaccines and I feel unwell for a little while.) I felt very reassured after being able to talk to my GP, I had some blood tests and physical checks and my doctors were happy to help and listen. They kept me up to date with my results and reassured me. So it definitely helps to talk to someone I think!
Take care and I hope you find some peace in your thoughts 🙂

Oh and I forgot to add, things to help cope...
Do you have any soothing activities or hobbies you enjoy doing? Such as meditation, art, reading, video games, etc.
I found for me personally, trying to keep my mind active on a task really helped. Looking after my body also helped me feel good - such as drinking enough water, eating well, gentle exercise, getting enough rest, etc.
All the best!
