Thank you for reaching out on the forums, we are glad to have you here.
I am wondering if you have ever heard of temperature grounding? It is a mindfulness technique that uses sudden shifts in hot or cold to snap the brain out of anxiety, panic, or emotional overwhelm.
You can achieve this by holding an ice cube to the back of your neck or by having a nice warm shower.
If you would like some support with calming your nervous system, please reach out to Beyond Blue's support service on 1300 22 4636 where counsellors can support you through some controlled breathing.
I am sure our wonderful community will also have some helpful tips for you as well.
Warm regards,
Sophie M

Hey ☺️ I just wanted to say you are not alone. When my anxiety was really bad i would shake, gag and actually throw up. Holding an ice cube is a really good tip and I found helped me as well as splashing some cold water on my face really helped me too. Sounds really weird but also smelling something really strong like coffee helped me to. Anything that can reset your nervous system so strong smells, tastes etc might help.

To me the body reacts when ur not flowing or feel trapped in a constant or saturating way, maybe work opposite and first breath, pluck ur body up like ur a winner, music, good grateful thoughts of open living free and dance to 'I love my life' and let me at it. So doing and thinking opposte saturates opposite? Happy if it helps and if you let ur body flow it helps mind relax? My thoughts cause I believe in you and care. It's more fun trying and never worry about failing we all learn somehow haha.
