Hi,
About 5 years ago i had my first panic attacks i seeked therapy and slowly improved but i could never shake my phobias.
Recently my family has had a couple of stressful months and the anxiety has flared back up again. I know anxiety is so individual but has anyone with panic disorder found relief from anti depressants? Or is there any other therapy anyone has found useful?

Hi Lelebe
It's only natural to feel anxious about the meds, there is a high chance to have side effects, but you can stop straight away if it doesn't agree with you. You will know after taking the first one. so don't worry about it so much, just try it and see what happens. If you have side effects then stop it straight away, you don't have to put up with it. you can try another one after.
I hope this was helpful, good luck xx

Hi lelebe,
It is not silly at all, I think many people get worried when they go on medication about the side effects, I know I do. Like solabear said (thank you as well for checking in with lelebe, solabear) if you feel there are side effects stop them right away and head back to your doctors and let them know.
My best,
Jay

Thank you again solabear and thankyou Jay your encouraging words have meant so much.
The last time i tried a medication was 5 years ago but the anxiety attacks were too much to take so unfortunately i stopped them and was scared about trying another one.
I'll let you know how my appointment goes tomorrow

Hi lelebe
I think you are an amazing and very strong person. There are people that sit back and do nothing and their health does suffer as a result. You are proactive and want some peace back in your life and good on you
Ive been on AD's for 21 years and my work performance actually increased and was promoted too.
I was put on the AD's because of my anxiety attacks. There were a couple of little side effects at the start but they do go away after a little while 🙂
You have a great attitude lelebe....Posting here takes guts...You'll be just fine tomorrow
My kind thoughts for you...Paul

Hello 😊
Today went really well i got a script for AD its not a class of meds I've had before and i take it at night so it should help with sleep. I'll try my first dose tomorrow night and hopefully it does the trick.
I'm also booking in to see a psychologist.
I'm really hoping these AD help me.

So nice to hear from you Lelebe, fingers crossed it will help. I've got the feeling it will help you, because it's the one with the sedative effect. This group helps with anxiety. Hopefully it will agree with you. But if you have side effects or you can't sleep, or if it makes you more anxious, stop immediately and go back to GP, you don't have to put up with suffering, you suffer enough.
You are very brave and well done for trying.
Big hug from Sola
