I have just recently had some very good news in the form of a bit of a windfall. But I keep having these thoughts that something bad is going to happen to even up the score, so to speak. The thoughts are so intrusive I'm starting to get that feeling of dread about me, even though I should be feeling happy and relaxed right now.
does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Good news 🙂
Our minds esp with depression and anxiety lead us to negative thoughts.
Often is the case that what we think may happen, doesn't.
If something does happen then's the time to think about how to deal, for now try and keep focusing on the good & enjoy the security and freedom it brings. Keep thinking about the ups, gives less time for the intrusive thoughts.
Let us know how you're going hun
Enjoy

Let the money if it is this, sit in the bank and don't be conned into believing that this project, which we'll call project X, that is suggested by someone is your ideal way to invest, or that they know a mate who has made zillions from it, hold tight, and it doesn't matter if a decision isn't made for a couple of years, so please don't be persuaded, you've got plenty of time. Geoff.

Hi Amalee, I understand how you're feeling, as I've experienced that feeling of dread after something good has happened! I've discovered that it usually occurs after a long period of life events that I didn't even realise were stressing me, but have eventually pushed my over my stress threshold. When we tell ourselves we should be happy, I guess it's a bit like telling ourselves to "snap out of it". If only we could! Be gentle on yourself and kind to yourself.
Try not to focus on the "what ifs" and embrace the "What is". You're much stronger than you think you are!
We are all here to care for, and support you.
Warmest regards
