Hi all
so I’ve started a new job about three weeks ago. It’s a step up for me and an overwhelming/big kind of job is that makes sense. I’ve been feeling very anxious since starting - no appetite, constant self doubt and waking up with a racing heart at 4am every morning.
then throw on top of that the sudden Melbourne lockdown and now I am working from home with no support from colleagues. How do people cope with working from home? I feel like I’m not good enough and it’s so hard to switch off and keep work and home seperate when it’s all happening in the same rooms…
my previous job was in healthcare so I was going into work for all lockdowns so I am just new to working from home. I’d love to hear some others that have felt like this before

Hi and welcome,
I too struggle with WFH. I've been in my role about 6 months and when working from home lose all my confidence. The set up is not as good as the office, I don't have anyone around to talk to and have to deal with remote learning also. I'm meant to be learning new things and don't know how I'm supposed to learn and keep on top of everything else and remote learning. I wake with anxiety on the mornings and feel overwhelmed and frustrated.
I understand

Hi cmf
its so overwhelming isn’t it. Do you have a manager or colleagues that check in on you?
Have you spoken or expressed to anyone your wfh concerns?
im worried this Melbourne lockdown will be extended and I will have to continue working from home in this new job. It makes it feel impossible to learn new things and I have no idea if I’m doing the right things or not

Hello,
Yeah, we do have managers that check in and we can call anytime too for a chat. My colleagues and I call each other too if needed. I understand how hard it is to learn new things with no support.
Are you able to call/talk to anyone? Surely they can't expect you to learn with no support or help?
I can't wait till it's over. I've asked to be in the 1st group when they allow some back in the office.
