Hi ephemerides,
It sounds like you are constantly having to balance your work shifts with what your parents want from you. Do you find that there are miscommunications about when they want you to work, or are they fine with you working but then closer to the shift they tell you to stay home?
This sounds like a really tough situation, and I'm glad you posted, but it's hard for me to give advice without really knowing your family. Are you guys able to talk any of this stuff through, or are there any ways in the past where you've figured it out with them that perhaps you could try?
I always found it so stressful when I had to work but had something else come up, like when your boss gives you a hard time it just feels like the worst thing. But try not to get too freaked out about it, because you can always find another job if need be. I used to get so panicked delivering pizzas that the customers would give me grief if it took ages, so I started driving really fast because I was anxious. My mother said it's probably better that I get fired for being slow than if I get in an accident, and so I really tried to calm down.
Life under your parents' roof can be tricky, when you're trying to work and build a more adult life, so hang in there, and I swear it gets easier!
