Hi, welcome
Yes, I have, in 2003 with subsequent medication (many types) and for 6 years I struggled because in 2009 I went to a better psychiatrist and didnt have ADHD at all. My original psych specialised in adult ADHD!.
This is the real problem with misdiagnosis or no diagnosis and guessing based on ones observations.
In my case I had bipolar and depression. The mania in bipolar was the element in my behaviour that was taken by the first psych as ADHD. My burnout of energy was seen as lack of focus and so on.
Subsequently I was placed on the correct medication for my illnesses and it had an immediate positive effect.
Just to mention some mental illnesses cross over in that one can have fragments of other illnesses as well.
These are the reasons why we should get professional diagnosis and even a second opinion if improvement doesnt come.
I hope that helps.
