What are you thankful for?

This Christmas me and my family were having a discussion of what we are thankful for this year. I thought this would be a great topic on BB.

I am thankful to have food, family, and a roof over my head. There is people out there struggling to survive and I am so grateful that I have food, family, friends and a place to live. Everyday we take things for granted. Being able to walk, eat, talk or see. We take these simples things for granted and don't realize how important these simple things are. Imagine not being able to walk. Or see. Or even hear. So I am thankful that I have a healthy, loving family and lot's of great friends.

What are you thankful for this year?

Hello GG

I have spotted a couple of your posts but not responded to you yet. Here is my opportunity. Welcome to BB and thank you for starting this thread.

You have spoken about the essentials of life and I agree with you. It's all very well having having lots of 'things' but without food and shelter 'things' are pointless. Similarly, having 100s of friends on FB is no substitute for the friends you see all the time and who care for each other.

So I am grateful for the same things as you, food, home family and friends. I am also grateful that I have survived this year, emotionally, and now feel able to get on with my life in a far more positive fashion. And I am grateful that I have received much support and I have been able to care for others.

Happy New Year to everyone

Hi GG and White Rose,

This year, I am thankful for having about five close friends who I can completely trust. I am thankful for having a loving family, including my Grandparents and cousins. I did well at uni this year, and it has given me hope for my future. I have had good health, and didn't need to see my GP often, like in the past. I am also thankful to live in Australia, and to be living at home (I'm 21), have ample food and healthcare, and people to confide in and share my thoughts with. I am also thankful for being accepted as a volunteer this year by a great organisation which helps children and young people with intellectual disabilities. I have loved getting to know the children, and it has been really rewarding.

I hope some of this brutal world conflict will be resolved, someday and somehow.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas 😄
