Hi I'm a 18 year old who isn't very social used to stay at home all weekend by myself didn't really have any friend until I starting going out to clubs/raves doing ecstasy/cocaine meeting so many new people who some have become close friends today but my problem is the days after all the partying on the weekend I feel depressed and unmotivated questioning everything and the. just crawling by the work week so I can go out again on the weekend and do it all over again and I'm not sure if I can go without the party drugs but I'm tired of feeling like shit the whole week for 1-2 nights of fun

Hey spritelover,
oh man that's a tricky one eh? you feel like you need to go out and meet people to stave off the loneliness, yet it hits you hard afterwards.
I think, whatever you think of drugs - dangerous or not - the fact remains that they are messing with your brain chemicals. So do a lot of things, but usually when we find these things are messing with us in ways that are not good, we stop. The exceptions seem to be drugs and alcohol.
I'm 24 and I've never taken drugs, though alcohol and I have a decent relationship. I respect it, and it respects me. Most of the time, ha. But it really sounds like the drugs are a crutch. Perhaps it's time to rethink what it is you're looking for.
Clubs and raves are fun, and you meet lots of new people, but are these the friendships that are actually satisfying you? Everyone's different in how they like to interact with friends, but my preference is to have friends I can talk to and relate to even when not drinking, so I can feel content even when it's not Friday/Saturday night.
You could meet some amazing friends there, but maybe it's best to consider what your actual hobbies are. Taking drugs doesn't count as a hobby, haha. Dancing and music - Can you go without taking drugs? Sports - Can you join a sports club?
If you feel like you need the drugs to get the motivation to do something, perhaps it's time to visit the GP to have a chat about your mental health. Proper medicated antidepressants are designed to give you enough of a lift to do stuff you like and thus meet people and gain a sense of control over your life again.
Have you spoken to anyone about this before?
James
