Hello, I get that, it can be hard to know what to do. Have you considered talking to a psychologist? It might really help you through this.

Hi there,

Thanks for your post. It sounds like you're conflicted about where life might be taking you and what you want to do in life. Those are big questions to answer and understandably it can be quite confusing at times. Do you feel comfortable providing a little more information about what exactly is weighing you down? We're here for you and happy to help!

Take the time you need,

Hi @b_nderz

It is totally normal to feel this way! However, I relate to feeling frustrated with not feeling any life value. It can be hard to find! I started out by exploring my interests and understanding myself on a deeper level. This may look like seeing a GP for a mental health plan and with your chosen mental health provider creating a “life audit” to find the things that make you feel joyful again!

Wishing you the best 🫶

Hi b_nderz

Whether we're investing time, money, a sense of wonder or imagination or something else, it becomes about the payoff. Is what we're investing in of value? Will I grow, gain or learn something from it?

  • If I invest time and research into some form of greater self understanding and self development, what's the payoff?
  • If I invest time and money into a course that interests me, what's the payoff?
  • If I invest my full attention into understanding a certain concept or even completely changing one of my belief systems, what's the payoff?

etc etc.

Of course, not always easy to gain a true sense of something's value or worth to us until we've made that investment. Another thing to keep in mind involves other people's opinions. While we may invest our time and attention into something everyone else deems as being 'ridiculous', such a thing could end up producing a massive payoff for us, personally.

What do you see or feel value in? It could involve coming here to the forums, connecting with others who can relate, research of some type, daydreaming on occasions (visualising), a particular career path or something else. It can be so challenging to sit and consciously think about such a thing, exactly what we find value in. Sometimes it can be about what we feel as being valuable (whether something feels like it has potential). Sometimes it can actually take a group of brain-stormers to offer us a whole range of things to choose from, for we're not always conscious of what we find valuable until someone finally points it out.
