Hi Youngsadgirl
Thankyou for having the courage to post and Welcome to the BB Forums
Paul here Young,
Worthless Alone Stressed and Angry....You are in the right place. I also remember the crying too when I had your feelings as well. It was dreadful.
You are not stupid in any way Young. You are an intelligent and very articulate person. That is a fact.
You have a great partner and wonderful family...and thats excellent!
If I may ask you Young....Are you sleeping ok? I just need a bit more info (if you can) to try to help you help yourself. Even just let us know what has made you so very sad?
Even though you do have all the 'great' things in your life doesn't necessarily make you happy....Is there anything that has happened in your life to make you feel so worthless and shitty?
It would be great if you wish to reply
Kind Thoughts
Paul

hi there, sadness and the emotions you are feeling are horrible. But you are not alone. It sounds like you are depressed. the thing with depression is it does not discriminate. when i have felt worthless, flat, down. Id write on my kitchen wall ' Be greatful' and id also say it in the shower...be grateful of what?? my house, kids etc. its like training your bad thoughts that u are sometimes not aware of , into more positive thoughts. or i listen to ''get Up Stand up, dont give up the fight" by Bob marly.. the fight for me is depression. and if I tell people I have had it 1/2 my life , their response is ' what no way!! you, really, i wouldnt have thought so ........hahaha...
stay strong and help is def there for you. maybe go see your GP

Hi youngsadgirl, welcome to the forum. I know that feeling well - feeling down, teary, worthless and not knowing why. I was like that for a long time before I decided to talk to my doctor about it. I couldn't understand what was wrong with me - I had a good job, great kids, house, good friends and neighbours, everything I could want. Why would I be so sad?
When I went to my doctor, who diagnosed that I had depression and explained that there is often not an obvious reason for it, it was like a revelation. I had an illness! It wasn't my fault! I wasn't just being ungrateful or stupid or selfish or weird, I was sick! And illness can be treated.
I suggest you have a good read of the information about depression on the BB site, then talk with your doctor. It might be that drugs can help you or maybe you need to see a psychologist (you can get 10 visits on Medicare under a mental health plan which your doctor can recommend).
Don't be hard on yourself about this - depression is awful, and downright bloody annoying when there's not an obvious reason and we just want to get on with our lives. But it's not your fault, and it can be treated with the right help.
Best wishes
Kaz

Thanks for your comment paul.
i wake up 4-5 times in one night and my sleeps are mostly not good most nights i wake up and find myself laying wide awake looking at the wall because i cant sleep.
One of the reasons i dont want to go to a doctor or talk to anyone is because they will ask why i feel the way i do or what i think is making me feel like this i dont know what the reason of me feeling like this is

Hi youngsadgirl
A doctor will ask why you think you're feeling like this and if anything has happened to make you feel this way, but they will understand if you answer honestly with 'I don't know'. It is not uncommon for people to have depression and not know why. Sometimes there just isn't an obvious reason and the medical people know that. You don't have to have the answers.
Try to do some research yourself so you get a better understanding of it. There are many resources on this site and others. But please do see your doctor. If you have been feeling like this for a year then you really need some professional help.
It can and does get better but it's not something we can just wish away or fix by ourselves.
Best wishes to you.

Hi Young
The waking up a few times a night can leave you feeling even more exhausted and depressed the next day..
Kazzl is right here...You have to seek help (GP) to help yourself...I hope you can see your doctor 🙂
The doctors are well trained nowadays to help you and many people like you...
Thankyou for your reply too Young
