Hello Doolhof!

I have looked for social clubs in my town, but I haven't found anything really suited for me, so I think my best bet is meeting people through work or old school chums I haven't had contact with in a few years.

A church group might be a good place to find young people. I went to some Friday night youth group about 4 years ago, which was ok until they started praying hehe. I'm not a religious person at all, but I've been thinking maybe I should open up a bit more.

I knew a really religious girl at school, and she obviously hated me, plus whenever she was around while I was talking to another friend of mine, if I said "oh my god" she would start harassing me for it. It even happened when I said "heaven."

Anyways, I shouldn't be putting anyone down, or their religion. I was out in town the other day feeling the worst anxiety I've ever experienced, and I was so close to going into the nearby church...which is just a bookshop according to my grandmother.

I won't waste anymore of your time! Thank you for your help 🙂

dear Lauren, unfortunately I'm an epileptic as well, it's under control, but the medication has changed my life in times of making me really tired.

All it took was for two bikies to attack me from behind, maybe 2 or 3 seconds it lasted and what it has done to my life now. Geoff.

Hey Geoff

I'm sorry to hear that! Some people don't deserve to live on planet Earth with the rest of us.

I stopped taking my meds a few months ago, and there's no difference at all. Quite the mystery!

Hi Lauren,

Please don't think that you are wasting anyone's time here at Beyond Blue, not mine or anyone else's.

We all have moments where we have plenty to write about, and other times we are happy to just read and make short comments, try to help and offer suggestions of what might help.

I'd just like to say that being a Christian doesn't mean that you don't make mistakes. I know I make plenty of them even though I try to live by Christian principles. When my husband picks me up for doing or saying things he thinks a Christian shouldn't do, I remind him that I am still human and humans mess up.

I hope you are able to connect with people and make new friends or reconnect with some of your old school friends.

Remember too that people can change. Kids who might have ignored you or bullied you at school could now be nice people!

Hoping you find some great mates soon. Cheers, from Mrs. Dools

Reconnecting with old friends is a bit tough since I've moved so many times throughout my childhood, but I can think of a few people I wouldn't mind talking to again.

I thought to myself tonight that maybe I should just stop worrying about it. I'm sure I'll make friends quicker if I'm not thinking about it every day hehe. I have my whole life ahead of me, so I'm sure I'll be fine. It's hard to be alone when I have my monthly anxiety phase (which is over now :))

I really appreciate everyones responses! I'm loving all the support (and also the opportunity to help others)

Hi my name is Megsii

Also just signed up on this site, hoping this will help with my list of things wrong with me haha.

I'm currently a trainee as a vet nurse, always interested in art and writing though. I tend to be quite shy also. Music as most people say, is my life, its poetry in a melody. Currently on my way to recovery, still only a teenager, and hoping to as well, make some friends on here maybe.
I'm also a gamer, and not in any way ashamed of it hehe.

I'm also at the beginning of writing a novel, though, my anxiety,OCD and the list goes on haha is preventing me from finishing it, which is my biggest dream!

(Ps.  please don't judge the writing i have on here, this is rushed my actual writing isn't like this. Sorry i have to say that, i get really panicky otherwise)

Hey Megsii, welcome to Beyondblue! We're both noobs 🙂

I'm glad to hear you're on the road to recovery! I've just got over a really bad anxiety phase, and it's like waking up from a bad dream.

What games do you play? What nusic do you listen to?

My two favourite games are WoW and GTA. I love Half Life and The Sims too.

I love listening to alternative/indie stuff, such as stuff they play on Triple j.

Hope to hear from you more!

Hey Geoff!

My doctor says it's absence seizures, the neurologist says it's complex partial (according to the EEG it's partial seizures, so I don't know why the doc still thinks it's absence)

But it sounds EXACTLY like simple partial seizures...or panic attacks. Panic attacks make much more sense to me since I have anxiety anyway.

Gotta get back to work now 😞 Hope to hear from you later!
