Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right forum to be posting in, but the subject says it all. I am thinking about seeing a therapist, but don't know where to start.
I've been feeling stuck for a long time. I have no friends, I'm unmotivated, tired. Everything just feels difficult. I thought recent diagnosis of diabetes was an answer to a few things about how I'm feeling, but it seems not. So don't know where to start with things really - psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor. I don't really know what I need. Does anyone have any pointers of where to start? I had a few sessions before with my work's Employee Assistance Program a while back, but it didn't really amount to much.

Hi, welcome
The ideal start is with your GP. They can often diagnose where a problem originates from eg diabetes can lead to symptoms like tiredness loss of energy etc. Also if they feel the need they can refer you to other professional people that suits your individual needs.
From a live experience viewpoint I find also that lack of a passion can leave us with lack of motivation. If you havent got a passion, which is usually an interest from childhood, then its a basic hobby but that alone can give us a direction, a reason to look forward to something other than our normal boring routines.
I hope that helps.

Hi there,
As said above the GP is a good place to start. I was looking for an online telehealth for a pysch. I used the someone.health service, just read through the blurbs and looked for someone who I seemed like I could gel with. I was lucky that I liked my first one, but even if I hadn´t it was very easy to switch to another person.
I hope that helps and that you get started with a change or two. It is all progress and a positive step even if it doesn´t work as well as you hoped.
Cheers
Chris
