Hi, I'm posting in case anyone knows of Support Groups for people who feel very lonely and have a history of mental health issues? A safe place where you Know your not the only one with these feelings and then talk about other things, socialise The group might need some rules or supervision.
I live in Sydney but on line could be a start. So any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hey, thank you so much for reaching out. I gather that you may have been feeling lonely yourself, so you're seeking to connect with a group of people who have been feeling the same.
Generally, if you approach a GP, counsellor, or therapist, they might be able to point you in the direction of some good support groups and/or resources for loneliness, and these will likely be fairly local.
Otherwise, if you're seeking something online to start with, Facebook's a surprisingly good place to start searching for support groups, as well as just a general Google search to see if there are any area-specific groups that may be suited to you.
If you're just looking for some online friends to share in your experiences with, places like Discord and Reddit can actually be quite good, provided you're being safe and cautious when exchanging information. They may not offer support groups necessarily, but they're good for providing online companionship with likeminded people.
I hope some of this info is helpful for you, please feel free to chat some more if you need, we're here to offer our support on the forums as well.
Take care, SB

Hi Amlon,
Welcome to the forums. Hope you are doing good.
If you are still looking for Support Groups, you can try your local library where you might find more help or information. Some of these groups meet up every week at the library either face-to-face or online.
Also, local Community Centers are a great help. It's a good place to connect and socialise with a wide group of cultures, backgrounds etc.
And as you know, there's always BB forums which is a very safe and monitored place, if you are ever feeling lonely or just want to chat.
Happy to listen and support anytime if you need😊
Take care
