Hello, I’m looking for a support group and I feel a bit nervous reaching out. I’ve had long-standing issues with shame and emotional regulation, and I’m trying to take a step toward support. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Cecile,
Thank you for reaching out, we warmly welcome you to our forums. I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with shame and emotional regulation.
I'm wondering if you've ever sought professional support, from a GP, therapist, or psychologist? People who specialise in giving mental health support can often help you work through emotions that can be difficult to process on your own, like shame. They may also be able to direct you to some good support groups.
Otherwise, it may be useful to have a quick Google search to see what support groups may exist in your local area. If you're looking for emotional regulation workshops or support groups specifically, they're great keywords to start with. Some groups may require a referral from a GP or mental health professional.
I hope this helps! We're always here to chat with you if you'd like to share more too.
Take care, SB
